Hi,
My name is Cheryl Bylinski and I am the Executive Director to a program at WPU called Up ’til Dawn. Up ’til Dawn spends all year pulling together students, faculty, and the community to raise funds and awareness for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
As part of our fundraising attempts, in the middle of September the Executive board hosts an Awareness week, where we show the campus who we are and what we’re doing, ultimately looking for their participation in our club. Normally, on Fridays of awareness week we would hold a car wash, which unfortunately this year is unavailable. Which leads me to you.
I was wondering if your car wash would like to work something out with Up ’til Dawn as part of our Awareness Week on Friday, September 18th. Here were some of our ideas…
1) The E-board could come help work the car wash and in return collect donations for our cause
2) We could hand out fliers on our campus for your car wash to boost attendance and in return receive a percentage of the proceeds from that day
3) We could set up a table at the exit and can (collect donations in a can)
Please let me know if any of the above would be possible, or if you had any other ideas in mind. I look forward to hearing from you (preferably via e-mail)
hey cheryl — i have a standard format for fundraising and am happy to raise money for you. i do this regularly within the local community. here’s how it works.
you print tickets, each one is redeemable for a car wash. you sell the tickets and collect the money. when the customer comes here for the car wash, they pay with the ticket. the cost of the ticket is the same price as our basic wash. if they upgrade the wash, they simply pay the difference.
prior to the expiration date, from time to time, you & we settle up. for every ticket that gets redeemed, you keep $3. so if you sell 250 tickets, you are guaranteed at least $750. however, when the whole fundraiser is over, you keep all of the money for any unredeemed tickets.
depending on how motivated your organization is, you can raise a lot of money. i have sample tickets used by other organizations and you can certainly get a printer to copy these and provide them to you typically for no charge.
we’ve raised well over $10,000 for local organizations in the last few years and are happy to do this for you. and we can do it on a regular basis as well if you want.
let me know what you think.
regards,
rob
I’d like to come in for an oil change saturday morning. Do I need to make an appointment beforehand or is this first come first serve?
Thank you.
Bryan,
No appointments are needed for oil changes. Lubes are first come, first served, while you wait.
Thanks,
Rob
I came at 5:45 last night (Saturday 7/10) and the car wash was closed even though your hours state that you are open until 6. What’s the deal?
Hi Donna,
The Car Wash was closed yesterday because of the heavy rain in the morning. Sorry for any inconvenience.
